Assistant Manager

Role overview

This is a full-time leadership position responsible for the club’s overall performance and day-to-day operations. The role sets the standard for excellence across sales, service, and operational delivery, with accountability for all commercial activity and for creating an outstanding experience for every member on every visit.

As the visible leader of the club, you will set the pace on the gym floor and at reception, uphold exceptional standards across the site, and motivate the team to deliver strong results. You will need strong attention to detail, a practical problem-solving approach, and full ownership of KPIs, people development, and operational consistency.

What you will be doing

• Build and lead a high-performing team by hiring, developing, and supporting colleagues, while providing regular and useful feedback to help them progress.
• Take responsibility for all revenue streams, including memberships, personal training, and secondary spend, with a focus on overall profitability.
• Create a friendly, energetic, and premium member environment that improves every customer interaction.
• Manage sales and operational processes to ensure company standards and central initiatives such as FUNDAMENTALS, ASCEND, and MOVE are delivered to a high level.
• Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation at all times, whether on shift or not.
• Respond quickly to challenges, adapt to change, and support the team with practical solutions.
• Oversee compliance requirements, including policies, procedures, health and safety, and pool plant operations in line with guidelines.

• A Level 2 Fitness Qualification is preferred.
