Role Overview
The Area Credit Manager for Prime in Gurgaon will handle credit and risk operations for assigned cases, with a focus on underwriting quality, process discipline, compliance, and support for business growth. The role sits within a framework that balances speed of decision-making with strong risk control across business lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage underwriting and credit operations for assigned transactions according to the approved risk framework and operating principles across ABHFL business lines.
- Assess and sanction proposals within the defined approval authority, taking support from senior colleagues on complex matters and helping peers when needed.
- Coordinate with the relevant risk team members for legal and technical review, and obtain clarifications for difficult cases.
- Drive risk operations in a way that supports business performance while still protecting risk standards.
- Work closely with Credit Processing Analysts and Credit Analysts to ensure that files are logged correctly and evaluated in depth.
- Use structured coordination with Sales and Operations teams to support sound decisions and resolve issues; escalate matters to the RCM when required.
- Maintain adherence to risk control norms and prepare MIS, reports, and escalation documentation as needed.
- Operate local risk processes through a maker-checker mechanism with Sales and Operations, including exception handling, collateral valuation, PDD completion, cheque bounce collections, and similar activities.
- Partner with Collections and Operations teams to monitor delinquent accounts and improve recovery outcomes.
- Raise complex or sensitive cases to the RCM to help prevent recovery issues and avoid delinquency or NPA build-up.
- Support sales and operations partners through case-wise decisions that contribute to business expansion and long-term sustainability.
- Build capability in underwriting by strengthening knowledge of legal and technical documents, property-related business practices, and role-specific procedures.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth handling of exceptions, escalations, and complex cases.

This position requires strong judgment, cross-functional coordination, and consistent attention to risk controls. The work involves both approval decisions and operational follow-through across underwriting, collections support, and compliance-related processes.
