Arabic Linguist

Job summary

This role is for an Arabic Linguist who will support Arabic language technology and artificial intelligence programs. The position focuses on improving the quality, accuracy, and usefulness of Arabic language assets, datasets, and NLP-based solutions used in AI applications.

Responsibilities

• Examine Arabic language datasets used in AI and NLP projects and verify their quality.
• Carry out linguistic annotation, categorization, and quality-check activities.
• Help build, update, and manage Arabic language resources and corpora.
• Assess how well AI models handle language and suggest improvements.
• Prepare linguistic rules, standards, and supporting documentation.
• Work closely with AI engineers, researchers, and subject-matter experts on Arabic language technology efforts.
• Check and improve language consistency, correctness, and overall quality in project outputs.
• Take part in workshops, review sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities related to Arabic language technologies.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Arabic Language, Linguistics, or a closely related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in Arabic NLP or Arabic language technologies.
• Strong command of Arabic grammar, morphology, syntax, and semantics.
• Hands-on experience with Arabic language datasets, annotation work, or AI-related language projects.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills in Arabic.

Preferred qualifications

• Background in computational linguistics.
• Exposure to large language models and generative AI.
• Experience using linguistic annotation tools and NLP workflows.

The role is based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and is a full-time onsite position.
